Countdown to Christmas - Day 6

This year, I am determined to have a stress-free Christmas...ok, maybe not totally free, but at least minimized. We are really cutting back on spending because we are tired of the commercialism. It's amazing how much more time you have to spend together as a family when you aren't out shopping all the time. Here are a few of the ways we spent our weekend:

Jack loved helping hang Christmas lights outside.

Driving around to look at Christmas lights with a cup of hot chocolate. Mmmmm. Even better in your jammies while snuggled under your favorite blanket.

Sometimes the best thing is to snuggle in bed and watch Christmas movies.
Yeah, this is the life.

Hot chocolate while looking at Christmas lights and Christmas movies are two of my favorites, too!

It's taken me a few years to get my kids out of the habit of asking for things for Christmas. I don't like the idea of lists. I'm with you - I'd rather spend less money and more time with them because if I think back to my childhood my best memories were of time we spent together as a family.

I LOVE that top photo of Jack and Stuart.

My mom and I were talking about this the other day. What do you remember most from your childhood Christmases? For me it is definitely about the fun things we did as a family. I remember all of the traditions and very few of the gifts.

I am loving Christmas this year because Joe hasn't really asked for anything, but is super excited for all of the fun things we get to do. It is awesome.

Ok, that was Kim, not Joe. He always forgets to sign out when he is done.
