Good Teachers

Last week Jack's school had a fall literacy festival. It was fun. His best school friend was there. They had a haunted house and a cake walk. I think Jack just loved that we took him to school and for once didn't leave him there, but instead stayed with him. I really didn't take any pictures until the end.

His teacher read a book to all the kids at the end of the night. If you ever have a doubt that the right teacher makes all the difference, check out the proof in these pictures.

There was chaos going on during the set up, as kids and parents were running all over the place, but notice Jackson.

He stayed in his seat and waited patiently for the story.

It was "Llama, llama, Red Pajama." Jack loved it.

Look how happy he is.

In his last school, the teacher had 4 kids (that is including Jack,) and she felt Jack was too much of a disruption and she didn't know what to do. She even said she tried to google ideas on handling him. From DAY ONE at his new school, Jack was great. This teacher manages 10-12 kids and said he was never a disruption, only that he had some difficulty sharing at first, but she worked with him and he got better once he got used to being in preschool. She couldn't understand why I kept asking her if he was behaving, because she said he was great. Never underestimate the importance of a good teacher!

We are so grateful for her. And the good news is, last week Jack finally stopped negotiating school. He goes without discussion! (Or very little discussion.) YEA!

Teresa I am so happy that he now loves school. I still wish I was his teacher but driving over an hour to drop him off would be crazy! He is such a sweet boy, any teacher would love to have that boy!!!!!!!!!!

A good teacher DOES make all the difference. I'm glad Jack is in a place more suited to him. It looks like fun.
