Hawaii: The Journey to Oahu

There is so much to share about our week in Hawaii that I will have to break it up into smaller posts. The best place to start is the plane trip. I think Jack was looking forward to going on an airplane more than any other aspect of our trip. It's all he talked about in the days leading up to our vacation. The day we left, we woke him up at a quarter to 5 in the morning. He was so excited. He packed his own little suitcase with his blanket and favorite toys to take on the plane. He actually rushed his mom and dad out the door because he was so eager. It was a fun morning for Jack. We left our car in long-term parking and took a shuttle bus to the terminal. Jack was thrilled to ride a bus! (Boy, is this kid easy to please.) He kept exclaiming, "We're going on vacation!" He was so patient waiting in the long line at security...he charmed the heck out of everyone with his excitement. He couldn't wait for the plane to "blast off." And, for a 6 hour flight, he was surprisingly good.
He took the safety instructions very seriously...
The $15 rental on these were well worth the money. They were loaded with movies, cartoons, and TV shows.
He was a little crazy in baggage claim, but fell asleep within minutes on the shuttle bus to the hotel. He just got a 60 second cat nap because it was a short trip to the hotel.

When my mom and dad to Joe to Disneyland at that age, all he could talk about when he got back was riding on the airplane. It was his favorite part.
