New Buddy
Jack got a new buddy. He loves his skeleton and loves playing with him. He plays games with him all around the house. Sometimes, he lays him down and says solemnly, "He die." Well, even if Jack refuses to wear a costume again this Halloween, at least he isn't likely to be scared of the other kids and costumes.

Christmas Plea
Dear Allen Family,
I was hoping that my mom and dad would take me to Canada this Christmas to spend time with all of my relatives up north. I have begged and pleaded with my parents to make this happen, but to no avail. Unfortunately, it just isn't in their budget this year. Also, my mom is looking for a job and it is hard to plan time away when she isn't sure if she will be working or not. But then I got to thinking, we live in a big house and have plenty of room to host the entire family here! That would be awesome! Just think...the entire Allen family waking up Christmas morning under one roof...how cool would that be?! And wouldn't it be a nice weather change for everyone? Also, my mom and dad put on a pretty cool Christmas...the decorations alone are worth the trip; Seriously, we have 9 Christmas trees! I would love nothing more than to share my Christmas with all of you. So, please make my Christmas wish come true!
Love,
Jack

My 2 Favorite Men
Listening to these 2 play each evening is such a pleasure. They laugh, they scream, they giggle, they wrestle, and they remind me of how blessed I am to have them both.

Jack Highlights
I love 3 year olds! Always have. But experiencing it with my own little boy is just extra special. He has such a fun personality. He is changing every day, but here are a few of the things he likes today:
- Favorite movies: Bolt, Wall-E, and Dinosaur (in no particular order.)
- Favorite item of clothing: his Spiderman boxer briefs
- Favorite food: macaroni and cheese
- Favorite dessert: frosting or whipped cream
- Favorite thing to do with mom: cook...especially when he gets to crack the eggs
- Favorite thing to do with dad: play video games (Stuart is in the process of teaching him)
- Favorite superhero: Ironman (followed closely by Spiderman)
- Favorite TV show: Calliou
- Favorite book: Going on a Bear Hunt
- Favorite outdoor activity: taking walks and collecting rocks and debris on the way
Some of the things Jack is doing today:
- He now pees standing up. (He's pretty good at cleaning up any spills, however, he does insist on closing the door for privacy now which is not always a good thing.)
- The most common phrases we hear from him are: "It can't work." or "I do it, all myself."
- He loves garbage trucks and points them out excitedly whenever he sees one.
- He can get dressed by himself, but usually insists on help, saving the skill for undressing instead. He is a little streaker.
- He prefers when I tell him a made-up bedtime story, instead of reading from his books. He likes the story of little Jack running away from home.
- He pretends to be scared sometimes, for attention.

Jack Goes to the Doctor
Lately Jack has been obsessed with going to the doctor. I'm not sure why, but for months now he has been telling me he is sick and needs to go to the doctor. He is insistent that the doctor is necessary to fix anything and everything. Just last week he told me he hurt his foot and he needed to go to the doctor so the doctor could give him a new foot. He does this all the time; it is hysterically funny. Yesterday, when I announced we were going to the doctor for his 3 year old check up, however, he informed me that he didn't want to go to the doctor. Huh?
Well, with a little coaxing, I got him to the doctor. And surprise, surprise...he was an ANGEL. He followed all of the instructions, did everything asked of him. He also got a shot and did not cry. He was awesome. They were so impressed at the changes since they saw him at his 2 year check-up. I assured them, this is not usual. Yes, he has calmed down a lot since last year, but not this much. Of course, he had to call his dad after the visit to tell him everything that happened.
His stats: 37.5 lbs. (94%) and 41 inches tall (99+%)
I'm so proud of my growing boy!

Jack's Bird House
Jack has been begging to make a bird house for awhile now. (I blame the cartoon Caillou for this.) Well, this week, I told Jack we could make a bird house. He was so excited. We went to Michael's to buy the house and some paint. He could hardly contain his enthusiasm and kept asking me to hurry up so we could pay for it and take it home. At home, I told him we would eat lunch, take a nap, and then paint the house. When he awoke from his nap, he happily called to me from his bed, "Mommy, I awake!" and immediately asked if it was time to paint the bird house. I am always amazed that he wakes up asking for the last thing we discussed or did before he went to sleep...he never forgets anything.
Sorry this is long, I did shorten it just a bit.
When Stuart came home, he took him through the events of the project, carefully directing his dad to not touch the wet paint. It was so cute.
